Julie & Rick

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

On November 17th, the sweetest most fun couple I know got hitched!  I was so blessed to have Julie as a client and now my friend.  Julie and Rick’s love is completely obvious when you spend any time at all with them and I just count myself lucky to have seen it.  Thanks to Kate the Great, here’s a couple of photos of this most fabulous event.  (You can see more on Kate’s blog.) It was gorgeous AND fun!  Mrs. Collins has already called me to report that the honeymoon fun and that Mr. Collins has treated her very well, including giving her matching earrings for the necklace he gave her on the wedding day.  Way to go Rick!

Flowers and Books

the-knot-book-of-wedding-flowers.jpgI was working with one of my brides today and she said something that I thought was so perceptive.  “What woman doesn’t love flowers and books?”  Now, it was probably one of those you had to be there moments, but I loved it!  I adore Barnes & Noble and would probably spend my entire life’s earnings there if I didn’t have to eat.  What made me think this appropriate to blog about was that one my most recent acquisitions from this grand place is a book…. on flowers!  I thought I’d share for all as it is a wonderful resource, not only on different types of flowers used for weddings, but it gives great ideas based on colors, theme or by budget!  It’s called “The Knot Book of Wedding Flowers” and of course I’ve linked that to B&N.  It was written by Carley Roney, the editor of The Knot.  I have found it to be a great tool for working with my clients in describing flowers and familiarizing them with what they like/don’t like.  It’s definitely a must have on the bookshelf!

Changes are in the wind…

For those who might not know, I’ve been working at Storybook Ranch as the Event Coordinator/Manager for the past two years.  It has been so much fun and the best experience a girl could ask for.  I’ve grown extremely close to the family that owns the ranch and I can’t imagine a better job anywhere.  However, all good things eventually come to an end, but this time an even better adventure is here!

Each & Every Detail has been growing and moving along fast, so much so that I will soon be leaving the ranch to attend to my clients on a “full time” basis.  I say full time as it seems for the past 4 months or so I’ve been working two full time jobs at once and one must give in to the other.  :)  With that said, I’ll be committing to this little adventure after December.  There will be many announcements on the blog as Each & Every Detail hits these milestones, so stay tuned!  Thanks to all my clients, vendors, friends and family for supporting me and bearing with me through this transition!  You are all the best!

Your wedding website

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

Recently, many of the couples I’ve worked with have created and published a personal website to keep friends and family in the loop about their wedding plans.  I love these sites.  They often have a history of the couple, such as their engagement story, pictures, introductions to their wedding party members, plus loads of info on the wedding itself, including pictures, website links to vendors and even the ability to request songs for the DJ or band to play at the reception!  Such fun and a great tool for getting the word out!  Have you created your own website?  If so, I’d love to hear from you as to what service you used and what you thought of it.  Either email me or just leave a comment.  Thanks in advance!

Excuses, excuses

Sorry for the lapse in blogs folks!  I’ve had 5 events to manage in the past 18 days and boy was it hectic!  They were all fun though and I hope all my clients had a great and memorable time.

Just yesterday was Rick & Julie’s wedding at the Eldorado Country Club.  It was a beautiful day and I was so happy to share it with this special couple.  Julie has been like my twin sister separated at birth (we even drive the same make/model vehicle) and I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to witness their unbelievably touching ceremony.  Thanks to her goof-ball brothers (said with the utmost affection), everything went off without a hitch and a fun time was had by all.  Everything was gorgeous, delicious and best of all, filled with love.  Thank you so much to Tracy and Kathy for all their support and your great staff.  Also, big thanks to Judy and staff from Sahana as their arch, candles and floral were the perfect touches for Julie’s vision.  I hope to have pictures soon as of course this wedding was shot by none other than Kate the Great from Juxtapose.  I’ll post some here if she’ll share.  :)  Congratulations Julie & Rick!  Hope the cruise is fab and I can’t wait to see you when you get back!
