Circle Park Bridal Meet & Greet

Andrea and the gang at Circle Park Bridal have been kind enough to invite me back for another Meet & Greet this Saturday from noon to 3pm.  CPB often opens their doors to vendors they trust to speak with their brides in an informal setting to answer questions brides might not otherwise have the opportunity to seek the answer to.  Because of this, I love these meet and greets and hope you will join me there.  If you have not seen this one of a kind boutique, this is a great time to do that too!  Here are the details:

Circle Park Bridal Boutique, 15402 Addison Road, Suite B, Addison, TX, 75001 – 12-3pm

See you soon!

We need your vote!

The Top 10 Dos and Don’ts of Wedding Planning

This Sunday, February 22nd, I’ll be hosting a seminar on my Top 10 List of Wedding Planning Dos and Don’ts at the Collin County Bridal Show.  These tips are for engaged couples to help them with budget, vendors and more!  I have seen too many couples make big budget blunders and some common mistakes before getting the help they need.  To prevent others from traveling the same path, I am presenting these tips to help brides and grooms-to-be navigate the unfamiliar process of planning a wedding by applying common sense and tricks of the trade to save time, money and stress!  This seminar will be from 3-4pm at the Frisco Embassy Suites.  For a FREE pass for the bride, click here: collin-county-bridal-show-free-pass.  I hope to see you there!

2009 Bride's Choice Awards presented by WeddingWire | Wedding Cakes, Wedding Venues, Wedding Photographers & More

WeddingWire, the nation’s leading wedding technology company, just announced that Each & Every Detail has won the 2009 Bride’s Choice Awards™!

In its inaugural year, the Bride’s Choice Awards recognizes and honors vendors from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility. This year’s recipients represent the top three percent of WeddingWire’s vendor community, which includes over 100,000 wedding vendors from across the US. That means you voted Wendy Kidd as one of the very best Wedding Planners!

Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews.

“We are excited to launch this annual award program to honor high-performing vendors based solely on the experiences of our WeddingWire community,” according to Timothy Chi, WeddingWire’s Chief Executive Officer. “This year’s recipients have set the bar high, exhibiting excellent service and expertise in the wedding industry.”

I would like to thank our past clients for speaking on our behalf and helping us win the 2009 Bride’s Choice Award! You all rock!

Updated office hours

Hi all!

For all you new brides-to-be out there, CONGRATULATIONS!  I can’t wait to hear from you and start helping you have fun with the planning of your wedding and making your vision come true!

I wanted to let everyone know my official office hours are now Tuesday through Saturday, from 9am to 6pm.  Of course there are exceptions to every rule, and the exceptions to this one are:

  • If I have a wedding on Saturday, you will not find me in the office.  Also, for that Saturday, only my clients for that day or vendors for that wedding day will get a return call since my focus in on the bride.  My voicemail will absolutely let you know if that is a wedding day or not.
  • Second, I have evening appointments available, usually on Thursday, for brides who work during the week and cannot meet on a Saturday.

My voicemail will always let you know if my hours have changed for the day or if I’m unavailable for some reason, so please don’t hesitate to call.

I hope everyone has a fabulous week and can’t wait to see who pops by the office!

What are you grateful for?

Before I sign off for a couple of days for the holidays (I’ll be back Saturday), I wanted to tell everyone that I wish you the happiest holiday season, whether that be a Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah, I hope you all enjoy happiness and fun times with your family.  I also hope everyone has a very Happy New Year!

I try to take time during this season of festivites to be grateful and “count my blessings” so to speak.  So, to continue the tradtion, here are some of the things I am very thankful for this year:

My husband and family – They have each shown me great support and have cheerfully forgiven me the time I’ve taken from spending with them to spending on my business.  Without their support, both directly and indirectly, I would certainly not have been as successful.  My husband has been my biggest cheerleader since I started this business and he continues to do so, so much that he has become a crucial part of my business.  Thank you Tom!

My clients – Each of you have been so much fun to work with and become friends with.  You each have a special and unique wedding and I cannot express how much I appreciate you sharing your ideas, family and friends with me.  You are why I am here and I hope we remain friends for years to come.

My vendors - I, of course, could not have pulled off the weddings this year without you (you all know who you are).  Especially the members of my “mastermind” team as you have all helped me not only with my clients, but with my business.  You are all so special to me and I hope we continue to work together for many more years.

My office – Opening an office this year was hard work, but has proved to be such a great investment!  It has become a serene place for my clients to retreat to and plan their weddings while having fun and enjoying the process, without it feeling stiff, formal and all too stressful.  I hope you all continue to enjoy the space and for those to come, I look forward to you spending time with me there!  (PS.  I’ll probably start working from the office full time after the new year, so please feel free to stop by and say hi if you are in the area!)

I have many more things to be grateful for, but wanted to put these out into the world for all they may affect.  I hope you find some time to find the things you are grateful for.  If you do, please be sure to leave a few of them here and spready the cheer!

Continuing Education of a Wedding Planner

As you’ve probably figured out from my about page, I’m HUGE into education.  I feel it is part of every wedding planner’s job to keep up their education, about vendors, styles, trends, etiquette, spending habits, etc.  There is so much to learn!  To best serve my clients, I feel it is a huge part of my daily routine to keep educating myself on everything there is to know about this industry.

In that vein, I have recently begun a floral design course at the local community college.  It’s not much, just the basics of floral design and care, but I felt it was important knowledge.  Unfortunately, I’ve had too many instances where the florist did not deliver as promised.  Because of this I’ve had to create boutonnieres on the spot, correct bouquets (including the bride’s!), redo centerpieces and pretty much a lot of stuff that I’ve never been trained to do.  So, now I’m getting some training.  I am NOT trying to be a florist.  However, in the chance case that a bride hires a florist I did not recommend to them, I want to be able to handle those emergency situations.  So for, I’ve learned about basic flower care, how to make a topiary, working a little bit with silks, creating a bud vase arrangement, a standard arrangement and now an arrangement in a pumpkin.  In two weeks I get to start on the wedding stuff, yippee!  In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at what my class has accomplished.
